Alexandra “Allie” Knowles
Four Star Event Rider
Since moving from her home state of California to Paris, Kentucky, in 2012 to pursue eventing full-time, Allie Knowles has excelled at the highest levels of her sport. The Pony Club “A” graduate and Level 3 U.S. Eventing Association Instructor Certification Program-certified trainer competed in her first Rolex in 2013 on Last Call and was the highest-placed American after dressage.
Allie and Sound Prospect, a 16.1-hand Thoroughbred by Eastern Echo out of Miners Girl who raced 13 times, moved up to the 4* level at Rolex in 2015 after finishing 8th and 9th, respectively, at the 2014 Poplar Place CIC3* and Jersey Fresh CIC3*and 5th and 7th, respectively, in the CIC
3* at Red Hills International and Carolina International Horse Trials in 2015.
Given the veteran stars who show up for Rolex every year, dressage-judge/commentator Sally O’Connor can be forgiven for not expecting a rookie to excel in the pressure-cooker that is Rolex’s dressage ring. Listen and watch Allie Knowles’ first Rolex dressage ride as she renders O’Connor almost speechless.
